I have a video of Princess Pink in my possesion!!!

But I can't watch it until my husband gets home, he made me promise I would wait until we could see it together. So now I'm sitting on my hands trying not to open the envelope. It will be at least another hour until he gets here, and I have no patience. I wonder if I can steam the envelope open and watch the video quickly??? I could it put back so he's none the wiser, ala the Brady Bunch. Maybe I should take bets on whether I can hold out, they could help fund the adoption. Or maybe I should put the video far away from me so I'm not so tempted. There are a thousand things I could do, but I guess I'll just blog to pass the time.

On another note, when you are finishing the second half of you dossier and people aren't being very helpful, whip out a picture of your child, it sure does get you the help in a hurry. Plus, you get people oohing and ahhing over your sweetie, which is such a fun added bonus.

Visa's, list making and tickets, oh my!

I know that people say keep busy while you're in the adoption process, it will make the time go faster. I may have taken that sentiment a bit too far. In the months of April and May I'm in charge of a big fundraiser at our pre-school, I'm team Mom in charge of way too much for two soccer tams, I'm planning and throwing two birthday parties and my family still has expectations that I will feed them, keep the house clean and do their laundry. Then you add the adoption in and AAAGH! I'm swamped and a bit cranky and very stressed out.

The second part of our Dossier isn't started, I'm not sure what to plan to pack and I haven't even made a list for my parents for while we're gone. We leave in less than three weeks an I'm swamped until then. I'm thinking that panicked doesn't begin to cover it.

We did book our flights and get our Visa applications turned in so we'll be able to go, we just won't have anything with us, because I haven't figured out what to take. Oh and just to prove my absolute craziness, we have all kinds of toys to take for Princess Pink all ready to go, just nothing else. (I got the important stuff done first)

What did everyone take on trip one? Scott and I are arguing about lap top and cameras, he's worried about things being stolen ect. Did you all take a purse or do the money belt? Did you take your laptop? How many cameras and what kind did you take?

Help a crazy girl out and toss some advice my way.

Today is Scott's big 4-0!

Happy birthday to the most wonderful husband around! My hubby is an excellent husband, he supports my dreams and encourages me to follow them, he is a fantastic father just ask his kids and we are so very glad to have this man in our lives. Happy birthday Lovey, I'm so glad it's you I get to journey though life with.

Now onto news of Princess Pink, we got an incredible gift from another family with our agency today, new pictures! For years I wondered what our daughter would look like, I used to try and imagine her features and hair color, but all I could see was our boys. Well, I now know, she is a little beauty and the pictures we got today are such a precious gift. I never doubted I would love the girl we adopted, I just never knew how much I would love her so quickly, and how strong the desire to get to Magadan and meet her would be. May 16th cannot come fast enough!

Dora Swim Diapers

Last summer J was obsessed with all things Dora. One day we were at Target and saw Dora swim diapers. I don't know what I was thinking, they looked red to me, so I bought them for J. That night I opened them and well, they were pink, with a big yellow flower. Scott was not too thrilled and told me to get him so boy ones please.

Fast forward to Saturday, I was cleaning out the baskets under the changing table and what did I find?? The pink swim Diapers! So hurry up and get here Princess Pink, you have swim diapers waiting for you!

Nursery, Docotor and Rain

I finally ordered new crib bedding for Princess Pink. The old farm animal theme just wouldn't do in the Princesses nursery. Scott asked if I was planning on having a theme for this nursery, and I said yes, GIRLY. So we have flowers and butterfly's on the bedding and I'm doing pale pink, yellow and green. It's a refreshing change from all the blue, red and green I'm used to.

We had our phone consult with the IA Doc yesterday and he said our referral looks great so we told our agency a resounding yes. The phone call was interesting, we were sure that this referral was very healthy, all things considered, but he gave us some things to watch for that we wouldn't have known about and he also gave us some great resources. I'm glad we did the call, even though I was frustrated with the waiting.

So now we are just trying to get our travel plans for trip one lined up. We are planning to go the week of May 14th, but we'd both like to leave now so we can meet this little angel.

It's another rainy Saturday and I'm off to spend my morning standing in it while I watch my boys play soccer, days like today make you dream of living in a sunnier spot.

Holy Toledo, I just talked to Russia!

There is another family from our agency visiting there right now. My Agency Director told me to call, so I did. They have our little one on video and are going to take pictures! They said she was petite and shy. I am dying to get over there and get to know her! We are planning our trip and are trying to arrange to go the week after Mother's day, darn those Russian holidays or we could go sooner.


I wonder what my phone bill will look like? Who cares, they saw our girl and said she looks perfect!

Enough of the sappy stuff!

That totally isn't me, I'm sarcastic a lot and I laugh a lot. Living with four boys under nine will do that to you. So I'm now bringing to you some of the conversations we've had in the last 24 hours at my house.

J, 2.5, had the hiccups and was complain to me about it. I said to take a drink and he did. He then said Mommy that just makes the hiccups wet. The kids slays me.

This morning A, 7 in 3 weeks, asked if it was hard to have 5 kids, cause he was wondering why we needed another. I thought maybe he had changed his mind about a baby sister, but he assured me no, he was just wondering if was hard (duh). Then M, almost 5, asked where our friends got their two girls from (as if you all girls are from somewhere else, outer space according to Scott) A told him the didn't buy their sisters, they were born. I said we're not buying your sister, so A said oh, we're renting her. B, at almost nine and a skosh more with it, informed all of them that we adopting the baby sister. So A said yeah it would be bad to rent a sister because we would teach her our language and then if someone else decided to buy her she would have to learn their language too.

After all that we had a long conversation about keeping her forever and just how adoption works. Making sure they understand, it's not rent to own.
